Community Action Network - FAQs

What is WMC CAN?

The Community Action Network is a small group of business people, within the same state senate district, who want to establish a working relationship with their elected officials.

What is its purpose?

To establish a forum where business people can meet regularly with elected officials and discuss the relationship between a strong business climate and the state’s economy. We hope to foster strong relationships with elected officials so you can just pick up the phone and speak directly with your legislator. If you have this type of access, we need you on the team.

Why should I join?

As a member of WMC CAN, you will build a relationship with your elected officials, meet fellow business leaders in your community, and stay on top of the issues in Madison and Washington.

Who may join and is there a charge?

Any business member of WMC, or a WMC member chamber of commerce. There is no cost involved in membership.

What is expected of a member?

To simply communicate directly and regularly with elected officials regarding business issues. Ultimately, we would like members to become a valuable source of information for elected officials on business issues.

Will I be expected to contribute to candidates?

No, that is entirely up to you. We hope that through your involvement in WMC CAN, you will become more active in the political process.
