Organized labor is seeking to dramatically rewrite American labor law with legislation that would essentially abolish secret ballot elections during union organizing drives. By forcing workers out of the voting booth and subjecting them to a public 'card check' scheme, the bill would take privacy, power, and choice away from America's workers.
WMC strongly opposes this anti-democratic legislation, and encourages you to send this important message to Congress through the WMC Legislative Alert feature, or the U.S. Chamber's Virtual March on Washington.
8/6/09: WMC launched a new round of TV and radio ads uring Wisconsin residents to call U.S. Rep. Ron Kind (D-LaCrosse), U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen (D-Appleton), and U.S. Senator Herb Kohl (D-Wisconsin), to urge them to vote NO on the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA).
Call your Congressman and Senator today and explain how EFCA would impact your business and your ability to create and retain jobs in your community.
7/21/09: Reports are surfacing that a group of seven senators have decided to abandon efforts to take away secret ballot elections. While this may sound like a win, it's hardly time to celebrate. Union bosses aren't likely to lay down for their key legislative demand after spending millions to elect anti-business lawmakers.
Our efforts thus far have been successful, but the fight isn't over. Big Labor has millions of dollars at their disposal and are spending big bucks to persuade our elected officials. Please help us make sure that the voice of the Illinois manufacturer is heard loud and clear in Washington.
